79 Series Land Cruiser Fender Flares

Cover Wider Tyres and Protect the Body of Your 79 Series

The 79 Series is the most commonly modified vehicle in the 70 Series range when it comes to wheels and tyres. Whether you are running 33s for a mild upgrade or 35s for serious off road clearance, the factory guards do not extend far enough to cover the wider tyre tread. That leaves the doors, sills, cab corners, and tray sides exposed to a constant spray of mud, stones, and gravel that chips paint, causes rust, and damages panels over time. Fender flares for the 79 Series extend the guard line to cover the wider rubber, protecting the body and keeping your tyre setup compliant with Australian road regulations.

Fibreglass Flares for Single Cab and Dual Cab

The 79 Series single cab and dual cab have different cab and guard configurations, which means flares need to be matched to the specific body style. Our fibreglass flares are moulded to the exact guard profile of each variant, following the flat, straight body lines of the 79 Series for a clean fit with no gaps or misalignment. Fibreglass is the material of choice for 79 Series owners because it is lightweight, holds its shape in extreme heat, and can be colour matched to the vehicle or left in textured black depending on the look you are going for. If a flare takes a hit on the trail it can be repaired easily rather than replaced, which matters on a vehicle that actually gets used off road.

79 Series Flares for VDJ79 and GDJ79

Flares are available for the VDJ79 V8 (2007 to 2023) and the GDJ79 facelift (2024 onward) in both single cab and dual cab configurations. The front guard shape changed with the 2024 facelift so it is important to select the correct set for your model year. Front and rear sets are available separately or as a full kit for all four guards. Most sets mount using existing factory holes with no drilling into the bodywork, keeping the installation clean and reversible. If you are building a 79 Series with aftermarket wheels and wider tyres, flares should be on the list alongside mudflaps and underbody protection to keep the whole vehicle covered.
