SAFARI V-SPEC SNORKELS FOR THE 70 SERIES
THE PROVEN SAFARI SNORKEL FOR EVERY 70 SERIES
The Safari V-Spec is the snorkel that built the brand. It has been on Australian 70 Series vehicles for decades and proven itself in every condition Australia throws at it. The V-Spec uses a fixed forward-facing ram head and a polyethylene intake body shaped to deliver proper airflow at all engine speeds. It is the cost-effective option that still delivers all the core benefits of relocating the air intake to roof height. Cleaner air on dirt roads, water-crossing capability, and a noticeable reduction in how often the air filter needs servicing on dusty outback runs.
POLYETHYLENE BODY, FACTORY-INTEGRATED FIT
The V-Spec body is moulded from UV-stabilised polyethylene that handles stone impacts, UV exposure, and outback temperatures without cracking or going brittle. The ram head fits onto the snorkel body with a sealed connection that does not leak unfiltered air through to the airbox. Mounting uses existing guard holes with a small number of additional template-marked cuts. The supplied adaptor seals the snorkel body to the factory airbox inlet for a fully airtight intake. Installation typically takes a half day in a workshop or a full afternoon at home with basic hand tools.
SUITS THE FULL 70 SERIES RANGE
V-Spec snorkels are available for every 70 Series era. The 1HZ 4.2L diesel in the 1990 to 2007 vehicles, the 1FZ-FE 4.5L petrol in the 1984 to 1993 range, the 1VD-FTV V8 in the 2007 to 2023 vehicles, and the new GDJ-era 2.8L 1GD-FTV and 4.5L V8 are all covered. Each listing confirms exact engine code and year fitment because the intake bore and ram head orientation differ between engines. The V-Spec is often the snorkel of choice for owners who want Safari reliability without the ARMAX premium price.
