CLOSE THE DOOR GAP THE FACTORY LEFT OPEN

STOP THE DUST AND THE ROAD NOISE GETTING IN

Anyone who has done a long dirt road in a 79 knows the result. A fine layer of bulldust over everything inside the cabin, regardless of how careful you were with the windows. The factory door seals leave a noticeable gap when the doors close, and that gap is exactly where dust, wind noise, and water all find their way in. An aftermarket door seal kit adds a secondary compression bulb that closes that gap almost completely, dramatically reducing dust ingress and cutting cabin noise at highway speed. You hear the difference the moment you shut the door. Solid, sealed, quiet.

PEEL-AND-STICK EPDM RUBBER

The seals are made from EPDM rubber with a self-adhesive 3M backing. Peel the protective strip and press into place along the door aperture. The bulb compresses when the door closes, creating an airtight seal that lasts years without breaking down. EPDM is UV-stable, heat-resistant, and does not perish in the temperatures the 79 sees parked in the sun. Installation takes under twenty minutes per vehicle with no tools, no trim removal, and no permanent modification.

SINGLE CAB, DUAL CAB, AND TROOPY KITS

This collection includes door seal kits sized for the 79 single cab (two front doors), the 79 dual cab (four doors), and the 78 Troopy (four doors plus barn door). Each kit comes with the right length of seal material for the cab configuration. Pre and post-2016 dual cab options are differentiated because the door apertures changed. For a fifteen-minute install at the price of a tank of fuel, the door seal kit is one of the highest-value upgrades on a 79.
