The moulded pods turn that pocket into a 600ml bottle holder, with room behind for maps or A4 documents, handy for touring and work. They need only minimal door trimming, come with mounting hardware and suit DIY or a professional fit. Speakers and map pockets are not included.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do these actually fit, and do I have to cut my doors up?

This is easily the most common question we get on the pods, so here is the straight answer. If you go with the 6.5 inch round pods, they are a direct fit with no door cutting needed. Only the 6x9 inch oval pods need a small amount of trimming to the door frame to make room for the larger speaker. Either way they come with the mounting hardware, plenty of owners fit them at home as a DIY job, and a car audio shop will knock it over quickly if you would rather have it done for you.

Do the speakers come with them, or just the pods?

The pods are supplied on their own, so you can run the speakers you want. You choose either a 6.5 inch round or a 6x9 inch oval cut-out at checkout to match your gear, and the solid backing plate gives the speaker a strong, secure mount. Remember the 6.5 inch round is a straight fit while the 6x9 inch oval needs minor door trimming, so pick the size that suits how much work you want to do.

Will they suit my Troopy, dual cab or wagon?

These are designed to suit the full 70 Series LandCruiser range from 1984 onwards, so Troopies, single cabs, dual cabs and wagons are all covered. If you want to be certain about your particular door setup, send us a message before ordering and we will confirm it for you.

Is there any storage benefit, or is it purely for speakers?

You get both. As well as making room for larger speakers, the design repurposes the factory pocket into a handy 600ml bottle holder, with space behind it for A4 documents or maps. It is a genuinely practical upgrade for a touring or work truck, not just a sound one.
