Aggressive cleats bite into both your tyre tread and the terrain for grip when you need it most, while the tough, UV-stabilised nylon takes a beating in the sun and cold without going brittle. A built-in shovel at each end helps you clear away excess sand or mud first.

Six carry handles make them easy to grab and place, they nest together to store flat, and the leashes let you link boards for longer tracks. A pair belongs in every serious touring kit.
