FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, it is engineered to suit both single and dual cab 75 and 79 Series, including the narrow-nose and face-lifted models. It is a direct-fit kit designed to bolt to the chassis with a flush profile for better departure angles. If you want peace of mind for your exact year and cab, send us your details and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Here is the honest breakdown. As supplied it comes with a drop hitch and tow ball rated to 3500kg towing and 350kg ball weight. On the 79 Series from 2012 on, you can reach the full 4500kg by fitting a higher-rated hitch and 70mm tow ball, and your owner's manual will note pre-registration modifications required to legally tow 4500kg. Narrow-nose 79 and 75 Series models are rated to 3500kg due to chassis differences. If in doubt, check with us and we will point you the right way.

Because a towbar is safety-critical and there are vehicle-to-vehicle variations, we strongly recommend professional installation by a qualified fitter. The kit is designed as a direct fit to make that job as clean as possible, but getting it torqued and wired correctly by a pro is the safest way to go for something you will be towing and recovering with.

The wiring is included. The kit comes with a TAG direct fit wiring harness and a 7-pin flat socket for the vehicle side, so you have the towing electrics sorted in the box rather than chasing extra parts. It is designed to plug into your 75 or 79 Series without a custom wiring job.

You get the TAG 4x4 Extreme Recovery towbar with an 89mm x 89mm reinforced crossbar, the direct fit wiring harness and 7-pin socket, a zinc tow ball, an extreme-duty drop hitch, pin and clip and D-shackles, plus two 4500kg WLL-rated recovery points built into the side arms. It is Australian-engineered and carries a TAG limited lifetime warranty.
